Kushed the spider!

'Oh, What A Tangled Web We Weave, When First We Practice To Deceive!'
Sometimes when you have the Internet as your imagined audience you tend to pontificate. Sometimes, like this time, it’s also an excuse to write a post matching a picture that captured your imagination.
Glanced at the rose tree in the garden. Saw this spider delicately weaving a web. Lazy to get camera so used the trusty mobile. As reward blew some smoke towards the spider to get it kushed.

Rest comfortably my best friend

Feeling a bit delicate after hearing of my friends passing away.
On his wishes he will be cremated in Oregon where they have a family home, as well as his wife folks living there too.
Religious observances in Colombo only, the remains will not be sent to Sri Lanka.
There was so much I wanted to say to him, reward I could neither give or he expected. But the words mattered to him, acknowledgement that he had best friends that all pray for him.
He was a great human being. A good person, truly good, in his heart. He lived simply and moderately. He could afford much but consumed only what he needed.

The Sri Lanka Sarong

The Sri Lanka Sarong - The only way to ensure your balls are not bollocked. The Sarong allows for one's balls to breathe, when one's balls are free, one is free.
It's important that a organ that helps one reproduce, is well free.
If one visits Colombo, a visit to Barefoot to purchase a colourful Sarong is recommended. If everyone one in the world had a Barefoot sarong, the world would be free, and well colourful.
dD has a range of Barefoot sarongs. In fact its a weakness. He has so many that some are still unworn. They lie lovingly in a closet. dD takes a peek of appreciation once in a while. dD finds it comforting to see all the colours, touch the silky texture, and inhale the aroma of Sri Lanka.

Memories by dD. “When I go from hence, let this be my parting word, that what I have seen is unsurpassable.” Rabindranath Tagore, Gitanjali.

All afternoon, and I smiled.

It rained all afternoon. When it finished raining, the sun came out, birds started chirping and all life stirred. So did I. Relaxed after a long nap while it rained outside. Marvellous is the only word of this experience in a humid, tropical country.
I meander my way downstairs to be greeted by a dish of still warm fish buns from the bakery cart, which arrives every late afternoon to this little haven of suburbia. A steaming mug of coffee and a long glass of ice water waits beside the fish buns. I sit down, stretch myself in the chair and partake the said buns.
The one veranda door that’s open brings a welcome breeze and fresh air from the outside garden. Glistening with the rainfall and reflecting sunshine. My heart is warm, my soul awaits, my minds open. That’s when I notice the tip of a bushy tail right outside the door. As animals sense us way before we see them I know this little visitor already knows I am sitting here. Perhaps maybe the fish buns tempted it as much as I. Slowly a quivering whiskery black wet nose appeared. Then behold the whole squirrel emerged. A fresh brown and black luxurious looking coat and a huge tail gives me the clue that it’s a young cub that’s just entered manhood.
All confident now, the squirrel hops on its two legs and elegantly makes it way to the table I sit. Quick hop on the chair and suddenly it’s on the table.
Staring at me intently. No hint of wavering or blinking. I am perturbed for but a minute of what is expected from me. Breaking a piece off my fish bun I lay it away from me, closer to it. Immediate scamper and the piece of bun disappear in to its mouth. Back to the accusing stare at me again. This continues until a good half a bun has somehow made its way to this squirrels mouth.
He then cool meanders to the edge of the table, acrobatically jumps off the chair to the floor and disappears as fast as he came.
I smiled. From somewhere deep inside my heart to the very recess of my mind.
Life can always be like that, little really nice incidents to make you smile a lifetime.

Absolutely Royal

The England I love. Pleasantly cold weather, gentle suburbia sighing in contentment of a day away from a life underground.

It’s absolutely still…
Unusually quiet Saturday evening. The nights are colder, summer promises all but gone. English weather. The rains have ceased and there is sunshine, but the familiar nippiness outside requiring a cardigan, sweater or sweatshirt.
Athletics World Champions from Moscow on the beeb, sound muted. It’s cool outside, twilight beckons. The silence of the evening interrupted only by the welcome gusts of wind coming through to the lounge through the open door.

The England I love. Pleasantly cold, gentle suburbia sighing in contentment of a day away from a life underground.
The house deadly quiet too. The girls and dog out on a walk. Me just lounging on the couch with the macbook on my lap. Usual stick of jasmine incense gently wafting and mixing with the cold gusts of wind.
Saturday chores of early morning Durga Temple, Stringhoppers from Wembley, pick up meds from Boots, all done. Laundry load in washing machine.
Bathed and pork curry fed dD just chills on the couch.
Sometimes the best plan is to have none.
Love. Peace. Happiness.
War. Conflict. Anger.
One may not have a plan, but they must have a deal.
What’s yours mate?
