dD has arrived in Pelawatte after an eventful pilgrimage.
Not withstanding the bus ride and realisation of how Sri Lankans do not know
about personal space or deodorant. Or for that matter, striking up a
conversation with a total stranger in public transport and asking about his
most personal details! It was truly wonderful that dD found this entire
experience well, wonderful!
dD was also able to witness many ‘news’. The most
wonderful being the gold jewellery offered to God Kataragama by King
Dutugemunu!
dD was at the Kiri Vehera just fifteen minutes before the
milk frothed from the Dagaba top. Yes, seriously.
dD saw elephants in ball gowns and dervish dancers.
Monkeys and real people just sitting together and just
‘being’.

PS: Unilever and other
manufacturers of deodorant in Siri Lanka, you unfortunately are not doing a
very good job of marketing your said deodorants. As a former advertising
person, dD gathered interesting ‘market insights’. Said insights can be shared
with those who ask nicely. Absolut Vodka as an accompaniment will be considered
nice, very nice.
